I made this card for my son's 12th birthday! I was inspired to make a space scene by the Altenew Academy course called Seasonal Scene Building.
I stamped the transport beam first on white cardstock and again on masking paper. I put the masking paper over my beam on the white cardstock and began inking the background with blue and purple shades using blending brushes. Then, I colored the tractor beam with alcohol ink markers.
Next, I stamped my aliens and spaceships on white cardstock. I colored them with alcohol ink markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies from Lawn Fawn. Since I decided to add a birthday hat to my alien, I had to fussy cut him out. I popped up the space ship and the alien and present with foam tape. Using a awl, I poked holes in the lights of the space ship so my lights would shine through. Finally, I stamped my sentiment in the lower right corner of the card. I used a special stamp for interactive cards from Gina K Designs that says "Press Here" and stamped it over where the battery was going to go.
I used Chibitronics conductive fabric tape, tiny led lights and a round disc battery for the light set up. I built foam tape up around the battery so the circuit wouldn't make contact except when pressed down. I layered the rest of the back of the card with foam tape to make it even. It became a very thick card.
Everyone loved the way the lights signed through the alien ship.
